McLaren has officially revealed its newest hypercar, the W1, and it’s as wild as expected. Following in the tracks of the legendary P1 and F1, this hybrid beast is pushing boundaries in both performance and design, with a price tag starting at $2.1 million.
McLaren’s newest masterpiece is a hypercar lover’s dream, combining high-end tech with a jaw-dropping aesthetic that’s likely to keep both track enthusiasts and supercar collectors on their toes.

Hybrid Power and Performance Stats
At the heart of the W1 is a V8 engine paired with a 342-horsepower electric motor, cranking out a total of 1,258 horsepower and 988 lb-ft of torque. This combination lets the W1 blast from 0-60 mph in just 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 217 mph. Wild!

What’s even wilder?
Its acceleration to 186 mph takes only 12.7 seconds, rivaling even Formula 1 cars.
Despite its hybrid nature, the W1 isn’t your typical plug-in. Its tiny 1.384kWh battery is more about boosting performance than electric driving, which is why it can only manage 1.6 miles of electric range.
But, is range a concern when you’re working with one of the lightest hypercars out there? It is weighing just a little over 3,000 pounds.

Aerodynamics Like Never Before on the McLaren W1
One of the W1’s standout features is its active aerodynamics. The car generates up to 2,205 pounds of downforce at 174 mph, making it the most stable McLaren ever on the track. Plus, it’s three seconds faster around the Nardo circuit than the McLaren Senna.

The W1 even introduces “Anhedral” doors — McLaren’s version of gullwings — which aren’t just flashy. These doors improve airflow to the radiators and make entering and exiting easier.
Inside, McLaren has kept things slick and functional, with integrated seats sculpted directly into the carbon-fiber monocoque. Steering wheel buttons are minimal, with only two: one for Boost and another for Aero Deployment.

Ready for Daily Driving? Sort Of.
While the W1 is a track monster, McLaren made sure it’s not all business. The interior is designed for daily comfort too, boasting an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, USB-A and USB-C ports, and even a set of cupholders.
You won’t find your typical leather-clad interior here either — McLaren introduced a new lightweight material called InnoKnit, customizable in various colors and patterns to match each owner’s unique style.

Despite its racing prowess, McLaren didn’t skimp on creature comforts. There’s storage behind the seats for weekend bags or helmets, and every W1 comes with a four-year service plan, unlimited mileage warranty and a six-year battery warranty.
The McLaren W1 is Sold Out Before It Hits the Streets
If you had any hope of snagging a W1, tough luck — all 399 units have already been spoken for. Even with its starting price of $2.1 million. The demand for McLaren’s latest hypercar far exceeds supply.
But with nearly endless customization options from McLaren’s Special Operations division, these cars will likely sell for much more once personalized.
