Chevy 2025 Blazer EV SS to Pace the Daytona 500 – The Fastest SS Ever!

The Chevrolet 2025 Blazer EV SS—Chevy’s quickest SS model to date—will lead the charge at the 67th Daytona 500 on February 16, 2025. This marks a historic moment as it becomes the first EV to pace NASCAR’s biggest race.

Set to hit the market later this quarter, the Blazer EV SS comes loaded with Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. It flexes 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, all while maintaining its production specs. The pace car will sport custom graphics and strobe lighting, making sure it looks just as fast as it is.

“Chevrolet has a long history with racing – it’s in our DNA – and the Blazer EV SS is a testament to that,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet. “We’re excited for customers to watch the Blazer EV SS — the quickest SS we’ve ever produced — pace such an iconic race this weekend.”

2025 Blazer EV SS for “The Great American Race”

Not only is this the first time a Blazer will lead the Daytona 500 pack, but it’s also the first electric vehicle to ever pace the race. This moment adds to Chevy’s legacy at Daytona, as it’s the 16th time the brand has paced the race.

On top of speed, the Blazer EV SS packs some serious tech, including:

Brembo front brakes for superior stopping power.
Sport-tuned chassis for sharper handling.
17.7-inch color touchscreen – the largest in its class.
Super Cruise driver assistance – for hands-free highway driving.
303 miles of EPA-estimated range.

“We’re honored to have Chevrolet as a founding partner of Daytona International Speedway, and that the iconic brand chose to feature the all-new 2025 Blazer EV SS at the DAYTONA 500,” said DIS track president Frank Kelleher. “The Blazer EV SS is surely going to set the pace for another exciting race.”

Chevy’s Electrifying Daytona Lineup

Chevrolet isn’t stopping with just the Blazer EV SS—they’re bringing an all-new Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype to Daytona. This project, developed alongside NASCAR and other OEM partners, is aimed at testing the future of EV racing technology.

“Our Chevrolet V8 engines continue to be an important part of NASCAR. Racing has always been an important platform for Chevrolet to test, learn and explore new technologies,” said Jim Campbell, U.S. vice president – GM Performance & Motorsports.

Chevy will also pace all NASCAR races at Daytona that weekend:

🏎️ Corvette Stingray will lead the Xfinity Series United Rentals 300 on February 15.
🚛 Chevrolet Silverado RST will pace the Craftsman Truck Series Fresh From Florida 250 on February 14.

“Chevrolet is extremely proud to be a part of NASCAR’s season openers by pacing all of the events this year at the famed World Center of Racing,” added Campbell.

Race fans can get up close with all four Chevy models. The Blazer EV SS, Blazer EV.R, Corvette Stingray, and Silverado RST. They will be at Chevrolet display areas at Daytona International Speedway.
