Formerly AlphaTauri, now Visa Cash App RB F1 Team, sets the stage for their 2024 season with the debut of VCARB02 in Misano.
The Visa Cash App RB F1 Team (formerly known as AlphaTauri) is gearing up for an electrifying 2024 season with the grand reveal of their latest challenger, the VCARB02. Set to make its debut on the racing circuit in Misano, Italy, this sleek and powerful machine promises to turn heads and set pulses racing.
Just a few weeks ago, the team sent shockwaves through the F1 world with the announcement of their rebranding, marking a new chapter in their racing journey. Now, in collaboration with payment giants Visa and Cash App, they’re ready to take on the competition with a name that commands attention: Visa Cash App RB F1 Team.
But that’s not all – mark your calendars for February 8, when the team will unveil the stunning livery of the VCARB02 in a glitzy event in Las Vegas. The excitement doesn’t stop there, as drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda will take the wheel for the car’s first spin in Misano on February 12, utilizing their filming day privileges granted by the FIA.

Under the expert guidance of former Ferrari racing director Laurent Mekies, who stepped in as Team Principal following Franz Tost’s retirement, the team is poised for greatness. CEO Peter Bayer expressed his confidence in their vision, highlighting the thrill of having forward-thinking partners like Visa and Cash App on board for the journey ahead.
But the VCARB02 isn’t the only exciting news coming out of the Visa Cash App RB F1 Team camp. In a bid to bolster their crew and engineering prowess, the team has made strategic hires from powerhouse teams Red Bull and Alpine. Alan Permane, formerly of Alpine, steps into the role of Racing Director, while Guillaume Cattelani from Red Bull joins as Deputy Technical Director. Tim Goss rounds out the lineup as Chief Technical Officer, bringing a wealth of expertise to the table.
Reflecting on their performance in the 2023 season, where they clinched eighth place after a mid-season shakeup, the team is determined to climb even higher in the rankings. With plans to incorporate elements from Red Bull’s dominant RB19 into their arsenal, they’re poised to challenge the competition and make their mark on the 2024 season.
